Get Ready Before the Season Starts

March is your chance to get ahead of the irrigation season. Winter is fading, temperatures are rising, and irrigation season is right around the corner. A little preparation now can prevent costly delays later.

Use this checklist to make sure your system is ready when the season kicks off.

INSPECT
☐ Walk fields and check for visible damage
☐ Inspect pipes, fittings, and connections
☐ Look for cracks or leaks from freezing
☐ Check pumps for wear or corrosion

TEST
☐ Slowly pressurize the system
☐ Check for leaks under pressure
☐ Test valves and regulators
☐ Verify uniform water distribution

CLEAN
☐ Flush lines to remove debris
☐ Clean or replace filters
☐ Clear nozzles and emitters
☐ Remove winter covers or insulation

CONTROLS
☐ Inspect wiring and connections
☐ Test control panels and timers
☐ Confirm sensors and monitors are working
☐ Review irrigation settings

PLAN
☐ Order replacement parts
☐ Schedule service or upgrades
☐ Review crop water needs for the upcoming season
☐ Identify efficiency improvements
